Well, I have finally got there.

Sweet enough 

It all started with an idea which was generated by sitting in a coffee shop with my wife, that also was an old-fashioned sweet shop, with the old jars.

I frequently visited the coffee shop when my wife went into hospital, and put a few ideas down, different permutations. 

This moved onto to scenarios and plenty to think about, slowly putting together the beginning of a and who would be involved, I thought the professors name needed to reflect his environment he was in, and the age group it was aimed at. so professor pear drop was born.

 What would be the best start, and who would be the best characters, and their roles within the story..

The start being the professor taking over a sweet shop, and all that comes with it, and of course not to forget, his very willing helpers.

Identifying characters who would be involved, what names to give them, with having no experience of book writing it was all new,  to me. The  names just fitted the part of the sweet

The actual stories just came along, testing them out on my two young grandchildren, and the eldest one drawing the characters in the book

It did help and speed up the stories being able to test them out on the grandchildren .
